SA400 Suspension Analyzer
Eliminate Subjective Suspension Checks
The SA400 provides a quick, objective inspection of all four corners of a vehicle’s suspension. Unlike a bounce test, each corner is tested independently to provide a safety check for:

Adhesion†
Is the tire in proper contact with the road? Can you steer and brake effectively? Very low adhesion levels indicate a safety problem and can result in tire cupping.

Damping
Hunter’s patented SA400 Damping Measurement System analyzes the ability of the shock to control excessive suspension and body motion.

Fail screen
This example shows side-to-side imbalance, indicating that something is wrong on at least one side of the vehicle. The technician should check components for a possible shock or strut replacement.

Pass screen
If damping and adhesion are balanced side-to-side, the display includes individual evaluations of damping and adhesion for left and right wheels.

Test Recommends Shock/Strut Upgrades
Test Recommends Shock/Strut Upgrades
The SA400 displays go beyond pass or fail recommendations. For this vehicle, damping is “Soft”. With this information, the technician can discuss the customer’s desired ride characteristics. If the customer wants a “Normal” or “Firm” ride, this customer should consider a shock or strut upgrade.

† Adhesion was defined and standardized by EUSAMA, the European Shock Absorber Manufacturer Association.
