Hunter B400 Chosen for Connecticut Motor Vehicle Safety Inspection Program

Envirotest Systems Corp., the company contracted by the State of Connecticut to carry out Department of Motor Vehicles emissions and safety inspections, has selected Hunter's B400 to provide drive-through brake performance testing for car and light truck owners seeking to license and register their vehicles in the state.

Sixteen B400s are now operating at 11 centralized Envirotest Inspection Stations throughout Connecticut, in addition to eight that are operated by the State Department of Motor Vehicle there.

Envirotest uses the B400 to augment a comprehensive visual inspection of tested vehicles' safety components. While brakes usually receive a visual inspection only, a drive-on brake tester such as Hunter's B400 or B400T is the only way to measure actual brake performance.
