Delaware Adds B400T Brake Testers to Motor Vehicle Safety Inspection Program

Delaware has added two Hunter B400Ts to its statewide centralized motor vehicle inspection program taking the state a step closer to a complete transition to computerized brake inspections. The State installed its first B400T equipped inspection facility in 1995. The latest additions were for a facility in Dover, bringing the total number of statewide installations to four.

Delaware officials report a very smooth transition to computerized testing and are very satisfied with the B400T performance. The next installations are scheduled for the New Castle/Wilmington area. Ten are planned statewide by 1999.

Hunter's B400T is an ideal technology-based solution for government and private sector safety inspection providers. It offers high volume, high speed through-put brake performance testing for all road-going vehicles, from sub-compact passenger cars to Class 8, commercial tractors and trailers.

In an effort to smooth the transition to automated testing systems, Hunter and Delaware officials are training local service technicians to properly interpret B400T test data. As a result, shops are reporting higher levels of customer satisfaction and more repair authorizations for inspection related repairs.
