The Application Developer IV is an advanced software developer position, responsible for applying the principles of software design and computer science to plan, design, code, test, implement and support the web-based software applications that support Hunter Engineering’s passenger car and truck service equipment.

What you'll do:

  • Analyze business needs and develop technical software solution designs to meet the specific business needs.    
  • Responsible for working with business stakeholders to identify the core functionalities of Hunter Engineering’s business applications.
  • Perform application coding for projects consisting of custom web applications for external and internal use, including gathering the technical business requirements, and based on user stories agreed upon from previous design step, perform the application coding utilizing tools and technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Angular, Agile methodologies, C#, and ASP.NET MVC.
  • Execute quality control testing on the new software applications and engage in deployment activities to ensure the final application is fully functional.
  • Perform the designed function, design unit testing to identify any anomalies or bugs in the new source code and analyze the test results and perform any root cause analysis needed.
  • Make revisions to the source code of new software applications as needed to resolve any identified issues, ensuring optimal functionality, and that the new enhancements or service will not interrupt existing equipment systems or device functions after implementation.
  • Review application code written by peer software developers to ensure it meets all applicable quality standards, including reviewing the application codes to ensure there are no gaps in the design framework, identify any potential security threats and confirm the new coding will interface with Hunter Engineering’s legacy frameworks and existing software applications.
  • Mentor junior software developers within the department, including providing design review, suggesting more streamline coding methods and performing periodic quality testing of the application code during the development cycle.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related technology related field (or foreign degree equivalent)
  • Position requires at least eight (8) years of experience in the following:
    • Utilizing tools and technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Angular, C#, and/or ASP.NET MVC;
    • Analyzing, developing and designing software applications;
    • Preparing documentation addressing each stage of the development life cycle;
    • Developing and designing tests and validation procedures to address system bugs; and
    • Working across teams to ensure bug fixes and deployments.
