Hunter Engineering adds SpeedClamp feature to SmartWeight® Pro wheel balancer

2021-11-12 -
New clamping mechanism increases speed and reliability

ST. LOUIS – Hunter Engineering is pleased to announce an enhancement of its popular SmartWeight® Pro wheel balancer. The new SpeedClamp delivers a firmly and consistently clamped wheel every single time.

Eliminating the need for manually securing the wheel, SpeedClamp consists of a smooth shaft with an interior ratchet. Once the clamp cup is on and the teeth engaged, the technician double-taps the pedal and the electric motor pulls in the cup and clamps it automatically.

The result is a speedier and much more consistent clamp.

“If the technician didn’t get it really tight for some reason, the wheel can slip on the balancer,” said Greg Meyer, senior Hunter product manager. “SpeedClamp clamps with the same force every time, ensuring that the wheel is not going to slip. You know it’s going to be good and tight, every single time.”
